In 12 months 18, Lowry just isn’t the participant he was when he made six straight All-Star groups and received an NBA title with the Toronto Raptors — “Again within the day, 2K, you possibly can get lots of buckets with him,” 76ers large man Paul Reed mentioned — however, due to his mind, he can nonetheless be a game-changer. Typically, the Lowry impact is simple to see: a well timed 3-pointer, a sneaky hit-ahead go, a galvanizing cost. Typically, it’s much less tangible. Philadelphia is barely 4-6 with Lowry within the lineup, nevertheless it has been with out reigning MVP Joel Embiid for all of these video games, with out starter De’Anthony Melton for many of them and with out All-Star Tyrese Maxey for 4 of them. The hope is that, once they’re entire, Lowry’s presence will make the Sixers a wiser, harder, extra versatile playoff group. In the mean time, they’re in play-in territory and he’s making an attempt to maintain them afloat. And maintain them accountable. “He’s going to tell you the truth,” Maxey said. “He don’t believe in sugarcoating. And that’s with everybody, the whole staff.” “Kyle is going to keep it 50 times two at all times,” Reed said. -via CBSSports.com / March 18, 2024
