Phil Mickelson is out there for a brand new looper. The six-time main champion broke the information through social media on Tuesday that his brother, Tim Mickelson, is retiring from caddying.
“I’ve had some nice accomplishments in my profession and attending to share them with my brother Tim has been past particular,” Phil Mickelson wrote in his Instagram post. “I’m very fortunate to have had him on the bag for me the previous eight years and as my brother for all times.
“A lot has modified since he was single and we began working collectively. He’s discovered his life companion, Maranda, they’ve had their second son, and hopefully their household will proceed to develop. Whereas Tim is retiring from caddying, I’ll at all times cherish the various nice moments we’ve shared on the course and I sit up for many extra particular moments off the course too.”
Phil Mickelson, 53, is seven years older than Tim Mickelson, who was the lads’s golf coach at Arizona State from 2011 to 2016. He then stop his teaching gig to develop into the agent of Jon Rahm, who was recruited and performed for Tim at ASU.
Tim Mickelson began caddying for his older brother in 2017, after Phil Mickelson and Jim “Bones” Mackay parted methods after 25 years collectively.
