This is what we realized after the Crimson group’s 38-12 victory.
Taylen Green flashes the downfield accuracy
The Boise State switch appears to be Petrino’s reply at quarterback in 12 months 1.
Hog followers have gotten used to seeing KJ Jefferson spin lovely spirals downfield, and after Saturday’s recreation, it appears that evidently Inexperienced can be utilized within the downfield passing recreation as nicely. He went 17-of-22 with 243 yards and three touchdowns, however two of his greatest throws have been landing tosses to Tyrone Broden and Andrew Armstrong behind the top zone. One scrimmage would not set his 2024 stats in stone, however Arkansas appears to be in good palms with its new signal-caller.
Bobby Petrino brings out all of the stops

Petrino’s power-spread offense wowed Arkansas for 4 seasons when he was head coach, and if Saturday’s performs translate to the play sheet this fall, defensive coordinators could also be in for a load of complications.
Petrino’s offense featured loads of crossing routes and go routes on Saturday, together with loads of learn choices, all play sorts that completely match switch QB Inexperienced.
Petrino is harmful sufficient on his personal, however with a QB that appears to suit his offense to a tee, the Hogs may make some noise on the scoreboard this fall.
Particular groups is nothing particular
Arkansas followers have been spoiled watching Cam Little drill clutch discipline objective after clutch discipline objective over the previous three seasons. With Little testing the NFL waters this spring, Arkansas was pressured to attempt senior Matthew Shipley at kicker. Head coach Sam Pittman determined that each one further factors in Saturday’s scrimmage would come from 40 yards out, which proved to be a problem for the brand new kicker. After knocking within the first kick off the appropriate upright, Shipley proceeded to overlook his subsequent two kicks huge. It is solely a spring scrimmage, but when Shipley is Arkansas’ most suitable choice at kicker, it higher hope it is nicely into the crimson zone earlier than settling for 3.
