WBC mild welterweight champion Devin Haney’s father, Invoice Haney, obtained heated up immediately after his son’s violent face-off with Ryan Garcia atop the Empire State Constructing in New York.
Invoice’s disposition modified from good and smiling to a snarling tiger. He vowed that his son, Devin, would off the challenger Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) and used an outdated Ivan Drago line from Rocky 4.
Invoice seemed able to be positioned in a padded room as a result of he was not a cheerful camper after the shove and the trash discuss feedback that Ryan had mentioned that initiated the [ush from Devin.
“If he dies, he dies, just like Drago said. This ain’t no game; I’m sending my son to go kill him,” said Bill during today’s meeting between Devin and Ryan Garcia atop of the Empire State Building.
I can’t remember a promotion where fighters and their teams threw around the “kill” comment as casually as Ryan and Team Haney. It’s it’s almost like it’s second nature to them. Usually, that kind of thing is taboo during fight promotions because this is a sport, and it’s not about killing your opponent.
Devin is defending his WBC title against Ryan this Saturday night on DAZN PPV at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It’s a WWE-type comment from Bill. The only thing that was missing was a costume and more acting. Those guys got it down pat with the acting stuff.
It appears that Bill is trying to get more fans excited about their fight, motivating them to order the $69.99 event on DAZN PPV or purchase tickets for their fight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
With Bill Haney, it’s hard to know for sure if he’s serious about his kill comments or just doing it to stir up the fans to get them to buy tickets for the near-empty Barclays Center to order the fight on PPV.
If there was nothing for Bill to gain from making the kill comment, you could say that he’s serious, but money involved, it looks like a sneaky way to squeeze more dough from the fans.
‘If he dies, he dies.’ 😬
