Even in a season as depressing as this one has been, some losses sting greater than others. Put this defeat close to the highest of the Washington Wizards’ lengthy listing of disappointments, maybe on the very high. “We disrespected the game,” Kyle Kuzma said after it ended. “We disrespected ourselves.” “Unacceptable from top to bottom,” Tyus Jones said. “Simply our effort, our consideration to element from the beginning simply wasn’t the place it must be, wasn’t the place it has been the final couple of video games.” In a tender, all-too-often listless efficiency Tuesday evening, the Wizards fell to the injury-decimated Memphis Grizzlies 109-97. It might have been one factor if Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane and Marcus Sensible had performed for the Grizzlies. However all 4 of these key gamers sat out due to accidents, as did Brandon Clarke, Derrick Rose and a number of other others. -via The Athletic / March 13, 2024
