Promoter Eddie Hearn complimented Gustavo Lemos, saying he was “implausible” in his loss to his fighter, Richardson Hitchins, final Saturday night time of their IBF gentle welterweight title eliminator and that the Argentinian might be “again actual quickly.”
It might be a good suggestion for Hearn to scrap the concept of constructing the 26-year-old Hitchins (18-0, 7 KOs) right into a star and deal with Lemos as a substitute. Hitchins has acquired about as a lot charisma as a moist paper bag. Yeah, he’s a fantastic braggart, however man, there’s no expertise contained in the ring and pure, 100% security first bore.
Hitchins: Ditch Him Already
In the event you’re Hearn, you possibly can’t do away with Hitchins rapidly sufficient. Wash your palms of him, acknowledge that he’s a misplaced trigger, and he’ll by no means pan out. Hearn simply must admit to himself that he acquired it flawed about Hitchins, identical to he did with Regis Prograis and made the error of signing him to his Matchroom steady.
Even when Hearn matches Hitchins with extremely care, reworking him into one other Rolly Romero paper champion, he’s solely going to carry a belt for quarter-hour earlier than he’s overwhelmed and despatched again to the contender ranks from whence he got here.
The place’s the Pleasure, Eddie?
Hitchins simply doesn’t have what it takes to turn out to be a famous person or a world champion, and he by no means will. It might be sensible for Hearn to chop his losses now, offload Hitchins as rapidly as he can, and do away with him earlier than ready any extra effort and time.
The gold commonplace for leisure
- Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz
- Subriel Matias
- Gustavo Lemos
In his final two fights, we’ve seen that he lacks the warrior intuition required to remain within the trenches the way in which Lemos, Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz, and Subriel Matias possess. These are the three most enjoyable fighters within the 140-lb division.
In distinction, Hitchins is on the decrease spectrum as an entertainer in the identical firm because the boring Devin Haney.
Lemos: The Fighter Followers Need
“Lemos, we’ll see you again actual quickly as a result of I assumed he was implausible. I do know his workforce, and I knew he was a superb fighter,” mentioned promoter Eddie Hearn to the Matchroom Boxing YouTube channel about Gustavo Lemos, who misplaced to Hearn’s fighter Richardson Hitchins by a extremely questionable 12 spherical unanimous resolution final Saturday night time in an IBF gentle welterweight title eliminator on DAZN.
“I noticed him combat [Lee] Selby a few years in the past, however typically they by no means get the chance till they arrive out. We have to see him again within the UK or America once more. I assumed he was implausible.
“At occasions, I assumed Hitchins was going to cease Lemos. He appeared drained, after which he simply fired again and stored getting his vitality again and got here again like a practice within the subsequent spherical. For me, it was a combat that was 115-113 both means. I give it to Hitchins. Perhaps I’m somewhat bit biased, however I assumed he had the cleaner work.
“You bought to indicate that on this sport. You’ve acquired to be actually match; you’ve acquired to be robust as nails on the elite degree.
