Insider Says Eagles Inquired About Another QB Before Kenny Pickett Trade

The Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up for what could possibly be a return to greatness in 2024 after making some huge strikes this week.

They signed star working again Saquon Barkley and linebacker Devin White, and on Friday, they acquired quarterback Kenny Pickett, who can be backing up Jalen Hurts.

In response to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, Philly did look into buying and selling for Chicago Bears signal-caller Justin Fields, however nothing ever materialized on that entrance, per Phrase On The Birds.

“The Eagles, from what I perceive speaking to sources across the league, had been one of many groups that had talked to the Bears about Justin Fields, however clearly couldn’t get to the purpose the place they agreed on a value, so that they traded for Pickett.”

Many are shocked Fields hasn’t been traded but, because the Bears are anticipated to maintain the No. 1 decide in April’s draft and apply it to a possible franchise quarterback similar to Caleb Williams.

In three professional seasons, Fields hasn’t precisely lived as much as expectations, and whereas he can transfer the chains together with his legs, he has confirmed to be an anemic passer.

There are nonetheless some who consider he could be an enough QB1 in the correct state of affairs, however it’s wanting an increasing number of like he could be finest suited to being a QB2.

Maybe there merely isn’t a marketplace for Fields — maybe Chicago was pondering or at the least hoping they may nab a second-day draft decide for him, however that appears extraordinarily unlikely at this level.

Up to now within the NFL, he has accomplished simply 60.3 % of his cross makes an attempt and thrown for six,674 yards, 40 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions in 40 video games.

It seems to be just like the Bears should decrease their expectations so far as a return on Fields in the event that they wish to get something in return for him quite than preserve him as a backup.
