An angry-sounding Jose Benavidez Sr. claims his son, David Benavidez, will “retire” Canelo Alvarez when that combat occurs between them.
Jose Sr. is annoyed that Canelo gained’t give the 27-year-old Benavidez the combat that he wants and has been asking for, and he’s on the level the place he’s making retirement threats.
Threats Received’t Work on Canelo
Sadly, that’s in all probability not the best method for Jose Sr. to coax the celebrity Canelo into combating Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs) as a result of he’s not going to be angered or shamed into giving the ‘Mexican Monster’ the chance.
Jose Sr. has been utilizing threats in the direction of Canelo for ages, and it’s not been efficient at motivating him to combat his son, Benavidez. He must be taking notes on the well mannered method Jaime Munguia went about getting the Canelo combat.
Munguia was humble about it and did his half, staying quiet and ready to be blessed with a life-changing payday.
“What number of kilos do you assume Canelo brings into the combat? He’s a heavy man, he’s a stocky man,” stated Jose Benavidez Sr. to Fight Hub TV, reacting to being instructed that Canelo Alvarez stated that the one factor David Benavidez brings to their combat is 25 further kilos after weighing in.
Bridges Burned
It’s honest to say that Jose Sr. and Benavidez burned their bridges with Canelo a very long time in the past, and it’s pointless for them to proceed losing time with a strain marketing campaign to get him to take the combat.
Badgering Canelo in public has labored in opposition to Benavidez and Jose Sr, who appear gradual at greedy the errors they’ve made through the use of that methodology of buying the combat.
Canelo seems to need nothing to do with both of them, and he has an infinite provide of fighters he can combat that may maintain the cash rolling in till he retires.
“We see an awesome champion [Canelo], a fighter that did all the pieces in boxing, fade away. I feel that is the top of Canelo Alvarez. He is aware of that David goes to retire him. He is aware of that David can harm him, and he is aware of that David can cease him,” stated Jose Sr.
