ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. has lengthy been a fan of New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. Even following a down 2023 marketing campaign that ended with a torn ACL, Kiper stays on the DJ bandwagon.
Earlier this week, Kiper implored the Giants to continue building round Jones and never to surrender on him but.
True to his personal phrase, Kiper did precisely that in his most recent mock draft, projecting Washington large receiver Rome Odunze to the Giants at No. 6 general.
The Giants are coming off a disastrous season by which they ranked twenty ninth in factors scored per sport on offense (14.0), thirtieth in yards per play (4.5) and thirty second in sack charge per dropback (12.8%). That was with solely six video games from Daniel Jones, although, and the quarterback needs to be recovered from his knee damage by the beginning of the 2024 season. So what’s the easiest way to guarantee that doesn’t occur once more? Get Jones some assist. They’ve too many Nos. 2 and three receivers. Odunze, who caught 92 passes for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns final season, might be their No. 1 man.
If the Giants stick to Jones as their starter — one thing they seem primed to do — they’ll not solely want so as to add a real WR1 but in addition deal with the offensive line.
Odunze could be begin.
