NBA execs believe Klay Thompson worth as much as $20-25 million a year

“Klay’s not going anywhere,” one NBA executive predicted while chatting with HoopsHype. “The Warriors can’t let him walk. He’s a four-time champion, and they can’t really replace him. In some unspecified time in the future, if a participant isn’t getting the job accomplished and nonetheless desires to play as he will get older, you’d come off the bench, and he’s doing that whereas enjoying higher. Possibly they tie his deal to Steph’s. Klay’s worth is within the $20-25 million vary. I believe different groups would signal him. If you happen to’re Detroit, wouldn’t you’re keen on that degree of maturity and expertise? Monty Williams desires a grown-up. If you happen to’re the Magic, don’t you need a grown-up? They want a authentic capturing guard. Jalen Suggs is a combo guard. I believe Gary Harris might be gone this summer time. Let the purpose guard place be a mix of Anthony Black, Suggs, and Cole Anthony. Orlando likes measurement, which Klay has, and he’d give them capturing.” -via HoopsHype / March 8, 2024
