Ryan Garcia posted video footage of himself dropping a thin sparring associate with a left-fight mixture as we speak as he prepares for his April twentieth combat in opposition to Devin Haney. It appeared like a flash knockdown reasonably than a reliable one.
The knockdown appeared as convincing as a $3 invoice. It had a very staged look to it, and the one factor that was lacking was the applause.
Some followers on social media consider the sparring associate was light-weight Frank Martin, who shares the identical coach as Ryan in Derrick James.
Backlash on Social Media
Whoever it was, individuals aren’t impressed with Ryan (24-1, 20 KOs) and suppose it’s a classless, lowlife transfer by the gazillionaire to submit a clip of his greatest second on the expense of some hapless, much less well-off sparring associate simply making an attempt to assist out.
It’s unclear what sort of response Ryan thought he was going to obtain from the followers, however he actually misjudged them. Kingry in all probability thought he was going to obtain reward and adoration from his flock, however they’re lighting into him, viewing him as a wretch for posting the clip. Did Ryan suppose he was going to get applause?
It’s one factor for somebody to movie sparring and leak secretly, but it surely’s contemptible when a fighter posts his personal clips the place he’s thrashing some poor soul, particularly after they’re filthy wealthy.
“Actually he legit although, he combat his a** off,” stated Ryan Garcia on X, speaking about his sparring associate. “If I pay somebody massive cash, I can do what I would like with footage. He’s a future champion. Y’all mad asf for what?”
However hey, at the very least his proper hand is… enhancing?
One optimistic concerning the sparring footage is that Ryan dropped the fighter with a proper hand reasonably than a left hooks, which is his trademark punch. Ryan’s proper has been his weak arm his total profession, and he’s not proven enhancements till maybe now.
Ryan goes to wish a whole lot of luck if he thinks he’s going to land that very same punch on Haney.
