Shakur Stevenson is livid at Invoice Haney after being instructed by him that he won’t ever negotiate a struggle between him and his son, Devin. Stevenson says he sees worry in Invoice for not eager to let Devin struggle him.

Invoice’s rationale for wanting nothing to do with the unbeaten WBC light-weight champion Shakur (21-0, 10 KOs) is twofold:

    1. He brings nothing to the desk
    2. Bob Arum chooses his fights

    Missed Alternative

Shakur had an opportunity to struggle Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) when he was the undisputed light-weight champion, however surprisingly, he turned down the 25% supply for the conflict. If Shakur is open-minded, there’s a lesson to be discovered right here. You lose whenever you overprice your self and don’t see the large image. Shakur has an excessive amount of satisfaction.

So, as an alternative of Devin losing any extra time with Shakur, he vacated his 4 135-lb titles, moved as much as 140, and dethroned WBC mild welterweight champion Regis Prograis.

It’s truthful to say that Shakur regrets his choice to show down the 25% supply as a result of if he had overwhelmed Haney, he would have dominated the light-weight division and have had his selection of high fighters. They might all need to undergo Shakur to get a title shot.

“So mainly, I deliver nothing to the desk reason behind a nasty efficiency, however y’all fought Regis and Loma proper after dangerous performances. Yeah, okay, Invoice, you may trick the followers and conceal who you might be, however you may’t trick me, my man,” stated Shakur Stevenson on X, reacting to Invoice Haney saying that he ‘brings nothing to the desk’ for his son, Devin.

    Path Ahead

If Shakur needs the struggle with Haney, he can transfer as much as 140 and attempt to power a struggle for his WBC title. It most likely gained’t work as a result of Haney is already on borrowed time at 140, on condition that he’s rehydrating to 165 lbs. As huge as Haney is, he shall be pressured to maneuver as much as 147 quickly.

Face it, Shakur, the Haney ship has sailed. You had your probability to struggle him when he was at 135, however you refused the 25%. It’s not the top of the world. You continue to can struggle William Zepeda on July sixth, and when you win, transfer as much as 140 and search for the large names in that division.
