TJ Ford: ‘Anthony Edwards kind of reminds me of Kevin Garnett’

TF: In my two years and my time on the Raptors, I believed I used to be at my greatest, each for my basketball expertise and my bodily situation, enabling my progress in effectivity and effectiveness. After which having this loopy mixture of this guard place.

I feel Jose Calderon and I had been sort of one of many first duos to have this affect the place it didn’t matter, and the statistics had been the identical with totally different types. We had been capable of flip the Raptors group round, win the division title, make it to the playoffs, and create some unforgettable recollections.

After I have a look at the blokes on the group, numerous them had success and gained championships somewhere else. However once I have a look at that group, we had been actually shut. We spent numerous time along with guys who actually understood basketball and helped take my recreation to the subsequent stage by facilitating.

I imply, with most of these guys, in at the moment’s recreation, we might have had numerous success. And once I have a look at the teammates that I had, numerous us are doing superb issues post-career. And I feel a part of that comes from our time spent in Toronto. We actually clicked. I discuss with my mates on a regular basis; that Raptors group, in the event you put them in at the moment’s technology, I feel they’d seamlessly work.

You’ve obtained Andrea Bargnani, who could be capturing threes, otherwise you’ve obtained Anthony Parker, who’s like that versatile participant you want for at the moment’s recreation on the ahead spot. You’ve obtained Calderon, who’s going to be that one-two punch down the courtroom with me, and then you definitely’ve obtained [Chris] Bosh, who could be a beast in at the moment’s recreation. That roster that was put collectively, we shot the ball properly and we had been most likely forward of our time. We needed to play like Phoenix, get it up and down, and have shooters do it. We had the personnel. Man, we had been among the best three-point capturing groups at the moment, so I can solely think about how we might carry out in at the moment’s recreation.
