When New England drafted Mac Jones in 2021, it appeared like they’d discovered their franchise QB of the long run, particularly when Jones made the Professional Bowl as a rookie and obtained them to the playoffs.
However final season, they gained simply 4 video games, and Jones was benched a number of occasions in favor of Zappe.
In 10 video games and 6 begins in 2023, Zappe accomplished 59.9 p.c of his go makes an attempt whereas throwing for 1,272 yards, six touchdowns and 9 interceptions.
The Patriots completed thirtieth in whole yards and thirty first in scoring final season, they usually have many wants up and down the roster, starting maybe with one or two authentic playmakers at large receiver and an improved offensive line.
Due to this fact, one might make the argument that they merely don’t have an setting conducive to the expansion and improvement of a signal-caller similar to Daniels or Maye.
With Invoice Belichick leaving after 24 years as their head coach, it’s clearly a courageous new world for the once-proud Patriots, a franchise that gained the Tremendous Bowl championship as just lately because the 2018 season.
