Good day, mates, and welcome to my Tremendous Bowl, Christmas Day and Roman Empire multi functional: Wednesday on the Masters.
To me, it’s the happiest day of the yr. The gamers at Augusta National are capable of take a number of hours away from this week’s grind to spend some high quality time with household and make lifelong reminiscences on the Par 3 Contest. And fortunate for golf followers, we get to see all of it. On Wednesday at Augusta Nationwide, it doesn’t matter whose child is grounded, which gamers are on which tour or what toddler is crying. It’s a day set as much as go so properly that there’s no probability for it to be something however healthful. And that’s precisely what it was.
My coworker and GOLF photographer extraordinaire Darren Riehl and I headed over to the Par 3 Course early Wednesday afternoon. It’s our second yr watching the competition collectively and whereas there’s a case to be made for every day being the most effective to attend the Masters, I actually am a large fan of Wednesday (the day of the week and the Netflix present). You may stroll the course within the morning and soak up all of the household time within the afternoon on the Par 3 Contest. The Par 3 Course is a a lot simpler stroll — it’s means much less hilly and you may stroll the entire thing in properly underneath an hour. When you’re ever attending the Masters with younger children or somebody who perhaps can’t put in 20,000 steps a day, the Par 3 Contest is the most effective place to see your favourite gamers (and their family members!) up shut.
There’s additionally a mini-merchandise store on the far finish of the Par 3 Course, which carries all of the necessities: hats, sunblock, chairs and meals. The whole lot you want for a day on the Masters.
The winners
I’ll get to Strokes Gained: Healthful in a minute, however I’ll give a shout out to the gamers who actually introduced it on Wednesday afternoon.
There have been a handful of aces from the professionals, that are spectacular, however not as spectacular because the placing efficiency that each Jessica Hadwin and Dakota Watson placed on as we speak.
Brad Faxon’s gig as Rory McIlroy’s placing coach could possibly be in jeopardy if Dakota Watson retains this up. I’ll attain out for touch upon her hourly charge and get again to you all.
Jessica Hadwin additionally drained a clutch putt throughout the occasion, partially because of her husband for the learn.
And eventually, congratulations to Rickie Fowler on not solely having one of many cutest children at Augusta this week but in addition on the Par 3 Contest win.
Okay, on to the good things.
The true winners
Okay, okay. Sufficient about good golf pictures and low scores. Let’s get to what actually issues on the Par 3 Contest: the caddies. I frolicked by the Par 3 observe inexperienced for some time, the place Frankie Fleetwood and Iris Lowry placed on a present. Little Fleetwood appears to have a little bit of Charlie Woods in him. He was strolling in putts, fist pumping and throwing a finger as much as the sky when he drained one. He was taking the observe severely. Then Iris Lowry walked over and requested if she might have a flip with the putter. From there, the 2 hit alternating putts whereas their mother and father caught up off to the facet. The patrons went wild when every child holed one.

By the ability bestowed in me by the Rogers Report, I hereby declare Frankie Fleetwood because the Chief Good Vibes officer of the Par 3 Contest. This could come as a shock to utterly nobody who has been listening to this occasion over the previous couple of years. This was him in 2022.
Little Frankie additionally has some critical sport.
Not solely do I like the friendship between Iris Lowry and Frankie Fleetwood, I like the friendship between their dads.

Subsequent up we now have the Schenk household. They’re having fun with their first time on the Masters this week, and I’m a large fan of Kourtney. When you’re searching for somebody to root for in occasions, Adam is your man.
Okay of us, buckle up. We’ve received lots of infants to debate. We are going to begin out with Cam Homa, who was rocking an unbelievable pair of Nike kicks with a inexperienced swoosh. These children have some critical type.

To know the Masters Par 3 Contest is to know that Sammy Spieth stole the present final yr, which he and Maya Fowler did once more this yr. Annie Spieth was pregnant ultimately yr’s Masters, and this yr, Sophie Spieth made her official debut at Augusta Nationwide.
One of many cool issues about being the kid of an expert golfer (I feel, anyhow. I’m not considered one of them) is you can study from the most effective. Sammy Spieth had his dad lining him up on the tee as we speak and Fred {Couples} trying out his placing.
The Sammy Spieth and Maya Fowler content material was a few of my favourite of the day. The second technology of the Baker’s Bay spring break crew is shaping up properly!
Crew Sims Koepka’s face was placed on show for the fist time as we speak on the Masters Par 3 Contest, and Jena Sims determined to have some enjoyable with it.
The images of Crew along with his mother and father are so, so cute.

Shout out to my coworker Darren for getting my favourite photograph of the day under.

And for the grand finale, I current to you all the most effective video of the week to date. If Tony Finau ever determined he didn’t need to proceed enjoying golf, he might a hundred percent make it as a content material creator. I’m obsessive about all the Finau household content material, however this video is extraordinarily artistic and they received a military of 5 children to cooperate for it. That in itself is nothing wanting a miracle.
Wednesday on the Masters form of looks like a Sunday to me. It’s a pleasant enjoyable day to calm down earlier than the work week actually begins, and it’s at all times bittersweet when it ends.
